Upon introduction, the GS is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 162-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The GT is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, V6, 265-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
The Eclipse Spyder comes standard with front airbags and front side-impact airbags with head extensions, vehicle stability control with traction control, anti-lock brakes, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
For 2010, Mitsubishi has enhanced the GS model with styling cues from the GT trim. Also, Bluetooth, rear view camera, and auxiliary input jack are available.
